The Best Marinade IMHO
May 24, 2021

The marinade from this recipe is so darn scrumptious, I wanted to let it live here… on my blog… in my go-to recipe section. Along with its easy ingredients & steps, a recent dish that captured its deliciousness.
Maple Balsamic Marinade
For one package of tempeh or tofu
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 3 Tablespoons coconut aminos (or tamari)
- 3 cloves garlic, microplaned (or minced)
1.) In a small bowl combine all ingredients.
2.) Add cut tempeh or pressed/cut tofu into a shallow dish with a large surface area, pour maple balsamic marinade over and toss to coat.
3.) Let marinate in the fridge for 1 – 24 hours. Stir/toss the mixture a couple times while marinating, if possible.
4.) Pan-fry on each side to crisp up then pour leftover marinade in pan to let thicken. Toss gently to coat all sides.
Tempeh AND tofu… together?! Dogs & cats, living together, mass hysteria (early crush: Bill Murray)

When your heart’s on fire…. You must realize…. Smoke gets in your eyes

A delicious dinner for the week. (Coconut curry lentils, sautéed broccolini and kale and the delicious tempeh and tofu)
