Terlingua, TX
Day 2 in Texas, Part 3
April 23, 2019

Terlingua is one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. So I’ll let the pictures show you why. It’s “up my alley” (as my Dad says) in so many ways.

My accommodations… a tipi at Buzzard’s Roost.

My tipi: La Luna

Inside, way too much animal for a vegan.
The hammock after my hike: heaven

The showers…

More selfies so my Mom knows I am ok.

Of course I found a cemetery. Terlingua Cemetery was a beautiful place with a different tradition of honoring the dead.

A rainbow. Gosh, this place is heavenly.

Sun is gong down… and my tipi is looking nice in the last remnants of light.

So I was relaxing in my tipi when I realized it was pitch black. I stepped out and was met with the most fantastic view of stars. I immediately set up my tripod and started shooting! What’s great about astrophotography is you can do it in your underwear… because no one sees you. So here I was shooting the stars in my underwear in the desert on a glorious deep, dark night. It really is a thing of dreams. You just have to go on and make them happen.

Then I got fancy! Threw on my Texas shirt and jumped in the mix. I love you, Terlingua!
