Day 12 in Deutschland, Easy Vegan in Bremen

After brief appreciation (Griswald Grand Canyon style) of Kölner Dom, I moved on from Köln. With my days counting down quickly, I needed to do some cities flash pan speed. I boarded an early train north, foolishly thinking it’d be a quiet and secluded ride. Right smack in the middle Read more…

A trip to Brooklyn

Scenes from our “trip” to Brooklyn… The view from our room in the highrise. On the way to Monte’s, Brooklyn’s oldest Italian restaurant, for a rehearsal dinner. The Electrician wore Gucci, me–polyurethane. After way too much wine, the morning after was tough. Brunch at Sun in Bloom helped tremendously. I Read more…

I’m On A Mexican Radio

I’ll admit it. I’m guilty of trolling on various vegan meet-ups simply for vegan option leads. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve partaken in vegan social network events like Vegan Drinks, a pop-up here and there, and roving high-end communal dining events, yes. But who am I kidding. I go for Read more…

7 Layers of Mexican-inspired Stuff [Mexican Lasagna?]

Loving the way I cut last week’s lasagna into four perfect sectors for the week, I wanted to this week’s lunch to also be a visual representation of my count-down to week’s end. Next week is mid-winter recess and I am off. So here it goes, an improvisation of pantry Read more…

Food… Kind of a Big Deal

As a lover of food, I need to know it deeply. I want to. I’m reading Stuffed & Starved, The Hidden Battle for the World’s Food System. It’s moving me in many ways. Firstly, it has been awhile since I have had the opportunity to read at my leisure, to read Read more…

Woodsnack

Garden Cafe in Woodstock, New York is a wonderful little cafe who’s vegan quesadillas are worth the price of a rental car and Triborough Bridge traffic. I recommend the black bean and spinach version to share. I’m usually a great vegan cheese detective but I can’t place this vegan cheese. Read more…
