Sugar Hill Creamery
Vegan Ice Cream in Harlem
December 1, 2019

I’m happy to see vegan options far and wide, especially when they are made from scratch with loving care in small batches. Sugar Hill Creamery is a family-owned ice cream shop whose unique flavors are a breath of fresh air.

I got a scoop of the Gone Till November, inspired by Haitian roots of the creamery’s matriarch. It was refreshing, a smooth coconut-base with soursop–a prickly fruit with a subtle pineapple flavor. And a scoop of Sweet Socialism, a rich dark chocolate sorbet.

Though I am not often in the area, I may have to return to try new vegan flavors. This is a special place.
