Staycation: Coney Island in the Autumn

It was a gorgeous autumn day for Coney Island festivities! The last of a whirlwind of staycation delights. It was all dressed up for Fall though the bright blue sky blazed with sun. So much that we played on the beach, making sandcastles.
But the games and amusements drew us in.
A huge pumpkin getting carved. The design was a beautiful mermaid.
We rode the Wonder Wheel… in the stationary car.
I know I always take this shot.
We headed to Coney Island Brewery for lunch. I knew they had a vegan option. It was a vegan chicken sammy, much to my delight.
There it is in all its cross-section glory.
Chips and guacamole–because it was such a big hit the day before. This time, not as much. Kids sure are picky eaters.
Well, back to my chicken sammy and my Mermaid Pilsner.
