Staten Island Sunday
Checking in On New York Farm Colony

With ambitious and tiring photo missions the day before, a visit to my neighbor Staten Island offers convenience and value to a weekend car rental. And it’s been months since I checked in on my closest abandoned site to explore… New York Farm Colony. Though I was there with a specific shot in mind, there was plenty more to see in the main dining hall structure–the most impressive of the remaining structures. As usual, a quick visit would remind me that I need to return soon. Too often I am only dropping by briefly.

I was pleased to see such vibrant foliage in all the overgrowth.

I would really like to see the upstairs, but the routes up are very dangerous.

Always new art to see…

Since I had my tripod, I was able to do some long exposure in some of the darker corners

Exploring in the fall means you can more easily hear when people are coming… but they also hide planks with nails in them… like the one that punctured my foot the day before at a different site.

I always take a shot of this door. The light is always perfectly streaming out of it.

Losing light, I had to head back. Thanks for the quick and easy explore!
