Starry Starry Night
Chimney Bluffs State Park

With finally a clear night, we headed to the Bluffs to capture them and perhaps some remnants of the Geminids Meteor Shower. With warm base layers on, we basked in the crisp cold, thankful the automobile traffic would be less so than in the summer. When another car pulled up, it was time to call it quits–but not before I ran a time lapse sequence for star trails and played with the mini Christmas tree…

The galactic core of the Milky Way now shines upon the Southern Hemisphere, so these stars are just the tail end… or tail top.

The light on the horizon might be the rise of the slither of moon over Lake Ontario.

Holiday Milky Way

I didn’t want to stop, but I did.
