Sitting On Your Glass

We would need this heavenly breakfast from Perk Coffee House in Tequesta to make it through the day’s activity: two hours of certainly more than beginner level glass-bottom kayaking through narrow mangrove tunnels in the Fort Pierce inlet.

A perfect Avocado Toast

In the kayak. Having little experience even rowing forward, learning to steer, turn around, get ourselves out of mangroves made the long ride very stressful at points. But we fought through it with rants and raves about the activity being not very female friendly as women’s strength is in her hips, her legs… not her upper body. This while the other women in the kayak group navigated smoothly in front of us 🤣

Though we wound up within the clutching arms of mangroves too often, the views were nice…

We survived

After, in Fort Pierce…

A very much needed lunch from Taco Dive… The Taco Bella: Marinated and sautéed portobella, topped with sautéed arugula, black bean corn salad and diced tomato on a layer of guacamole. And The Veggie: Black eyed pea-co and arugula topped with fried green tomatillo and drizzled with Thai sauce.

Inhaled as we had already expended its calories during the kayak tour.

And not all that long later, Fruits and Roots Vegan Cafe on the way back south. This eatery in Stuart has some healthful vegan eats, like these nachos with sunflower seed meat, cashew crema, and a ton of other stuff.

They even hand-press their milks to order!
