Seitan Wings at Mountaineer Tap House
Morgantown, West Virginia
July 17, 2021

Blazing a quick trail to West Virginia, I knew I would be picking up some seitan wings from Mountaineer Tap House to help settle me into my hotel.

I was pleased to learn that they had just created a vegan ranch to accompany the seitan wigs and I’d be one of the firsts to try it! These seitan wings are truly outstanding.

First, they’re truly seitan, obviously made from scratch in house. They’re also airy and tender inside and so satisfyingly crunchy on the outside. Because: Fried! How sick am I of things being called “wings” that aren’t fried?! A lot. Eateries’ interpretation of this item is very broad. But these are exactly what I imagine when I think “seitan wings.”

Here they are, close, so you can see the Caribbean jerk spice rub I requested. Perfection!
