Scenes from a Quarantine, Part 8

No more pencils, no more books… oh wait! We haven’t used either since March! Though I have enjoyed seeing my students’ ceilings in our Google Meets, the school year is ending on a rather anti-climactic fashion. A trip to my school to pick up some curriculum planning stuff for summer would be an awkward one. Seeing half the faces of my colleagues once again was bittersweet. The fact that we don’t know what’s to come in September makes the end of the school year even more surreal.

But I must admit—staff meetings were a lot of fun, because: multitasking ridiculousness. Way less taxing than IRL.

My first ride on the subway a couple weeks back was a lonely one.

Yes, everyone please stay away from me.

I got my hands on a mask for urban exploration. This baby blocks asbestos while making me look medical-fetishistic… Going to break this in this weekend in a big photo mission.

I found the Undo button.

High tide

Made a mermaid top sale! That is just what I needed to keep crafting… I kinda was/am in a bit of a creative slump.

Some food. I have been very disappointed with the bagels around my apartment. Everything bagels with seeds only on one side. Too much doughy innards. Poor variety of seeds… I am an Everything Bagel snob. But I was happy to find this one near by at Paneantico Bakery. A good toasted everything bagel is a little piece of heaven.

More curry. Ok, I’m going to not make curry for a while.

Potatoes. More pieces of heaven.

This was a lunch for the week… a Field Roast sausage, nacho cheese, my pickles, tomato, kale, butternut squash and those lovely potatoes. Delish, but the highly processed hot dog buns don’t do my belly right…

When I ran out of sausage… a roasted carrot dog!

And this week’s lunch: balsamic maple marinated tempeh, romaine, tomato, pickles and vegan mayo (Sir Kensington which is too lemony in my view)

Ah, but oh so good together. . .

The first of my mint on some watermelon… watermelon season! πŸ‰ πŸ’š

Some delivery to support my neighborhood eateries… and because I love a nostalgic dinner of General Tsao’s Tofu and some veggie fried rice. Yum from Grand Sichuan House.

Been wearing more of my 90’s t-shirts. I’m the same as I was when I was 6 years old… Also, this is my Father’s smile

And the mental bakedown continues… though I have also lost some baking moxy too as of late. Been so drained lately… feeling burdened and got me blaming the Gaia Principle, though I don’t like junk in my science either… Anyway, more chocolate chip cookies. Because I can make the with my eyes closed… or in between tears. (insert dramatic piano)

This week’s batch. Every batch is different!

Hoping that in-person connection is more plentiful moving forward since NY did so well with staying safe, but for now… discussing urbex with this little one while her Mommy makes a drink…

I am wrapping up this series soon! Thank goodness!
