Scenes From a New Normal, Part 1
Inside/Outside

As the world turns, I capture it at every angle. And now that every shot has the setting of this “new normal,” I continue to archive it–tucking it neatly in its place for prosperity. Starting with a brief respite, returning to remote work briefly, and the pancake breakfasts that ensued.

This is pancake perfection. I’m sorry; I know I brag about my pancakes all the time.

Breakfast decadence

Hunting in my physical archive, I found my piles of Garbage Pail Kids. I really loved these cards, though this stash was purloined from all my siblings. What I loved even more was Wacky Packages. I was obsessed with them… I loved their anti-consumerist sentiment even as a kid!

Some FDNY action across street. Now I am not one of those women that loves fire fighters, but I kinda love fire fighters. They go into fires and save people. I felt bad watching them all like a school girl while, well, something was happening. Thankfully, no ambulances.

Virtual hanging out continues….

Food always a priority at home. I need to start making dishes other than curry… but it uses up everything I need it to use up and tastes outstanding.

I used my Thai Indian curry recipe that I usually make, but I subbed peanut butter for cashew butter and whoa nelly , it was so darn good.

Heading back to school, a batch of chocolate chip cookies to soften the blow

My students went nuts over these cookies… they were shaking in their seats eating them. They told me I should open a bakery. They said that the cookies tasted like: cereal, pancakes–the things they know that taste sweet and good. Kids after my own heart!

I love checking in on this little house on my way to work. It’s just kind of bad ass that it is still in this lot, surrounded by apartment buildings. I want to know who the property owner is. And I also want him or her to put in a swing set.

You can learn a lot about someone watching how they make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Ever since I brought in a loaf of bread and tubs of peanut butter and jelly for my finicky eaters, I’ve been fascinated by how each make their sandwiches.

Spring is dipping in and out. As it dipped in, some Park Mor from Coco Thai on Prospect Park’s sparse green grass.

What the shell, I’ll shell before my mermaid shoot, Robert Moses State Park. Bring on the beach!

All fixed, NYC

Goodbye Horses… been loving the Spring cleaning in Brooklyn

First haircut in over a year

My grandma’s glasses for my new shag cut

More vegan calzone from the Brooklyn Firefly. I mistakenly ordered the one with Beyond meat in it. I had to scoop it all out it was so gross. I know this is a disgusting thing to say… but I feel like it tastes like cat food smells.

Potatoes with their vegan aioli

More views on the way to work–tip-toein’ through the tulips

Work meals… cafeteria hummus with a fork

A huge panelle sammy (entitled the Union Street) on the way home from Prospect Provisions… chickpea panelle / Follow Your Heart mozzarella / caponata / arugula / seeded italian bread

Having a free period at the end of the day renders me useless. So I do ridiculous things on my phone to pass the time. Like this…

Dentist appointment views. Sky trumps art.
