Rochester Bites

It was difficult to try Rochester spots I hadn’t had before… holiday hours plagued numerous attempts! But I did eat well, opting to order in out of convenience since the kiddos were not interested in my eateries.

Some delivery from Red Fern… I got the buffalo tempeh sandwich: spicy tempeh, pickled carrot and cabbage, and cucumber. I left off the vegan blue cheese. Very bread-y.

Some mash potatoes and gravy. Of course they hit the spot!

What’s a visit to Rochester without a stop at Swillburger?! I was delighted to learn that they now had a vegan poutine on the menu.

The eats…

The vegan poutine. It was okay. The tofu was unspectacular. But I suppose I was spoiled in Montreal, where i went on a vegan poutine bender.

A single beet burger…

Another delivery… this time from Zemeta Ethiopian Restaurant. I got the vegan platter with all the delicious piles of spicy, hearty love.

This injera is out of this world.

Making cookies with the kids. I used this recipe; it’s a new one for me.

They were well-received but they weren’t my style chocolate chip cookie.

Ordering in, because it is so easy! This time breakfast from 1872 Cafe. They have a whole vegan section on their brekkie menu. This is the Good Day Rosa: Seasoned tofu, hummus, spinach, red onion, and tomato on an everything bagel. Really yummy!

Also some oat milk cappuccinos. And that is one of my cookies…

Lastly, some veggie bao from OG Dumpling House

I seriously think I would like anything inside these delicious pillows of softness.

I’ve added new spots to my Rochester list for a report on fresh, new offerings. Stay tuned for that when I am back and places are actually open!
