Postcards From the End
Labor Day in Port Bay, NY

It is always hard to say goodbye to summer. So I take a lot of pictures. Here are its last unofficial wisps… from sun up to sun down.

A rainbow upon arrival

And into sunrise…

My friend in the tent because… packed cottage

I made the tofu scramble in advance! It hit the spot.

Dorking it up

The Chimney Bluffs from the lake

The waves were so strong. I did NOT enjoy the boat ride. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Now we’re tubing….

My poor brain was bounced and bounced all day. When I laid down I could still feel the motion.

My forehead–large and in charge

Sitting pretty on the boat

Now we’re cooking. The salt potatoes are a big hit.

Happy Labor Day!

S’mores making

Well done

Well, well done

I think these cookies work great for vegan s’mores, Firstly, they have a thin layer of chocolate that melts easily with the marshmallow heat and secondly, they have a shortbread cookie–which I prefer to graham.

And with those sweet bites, the day winded down. It was time to face the music… the regular non-summer life was overtaking.
