Plants, Then Ice Cream Plants.
(Carroll Gardens Vegan)

The all-vegan Planted in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn has some great bites. It is a nice addition to a neighborhood I’m often in, given its proximity to my hair gal and my old job.

My Vegan Egg Sandwich with its cashew cheese eggs, some greens, pickled beet, avocado, and some dried cranberry. This was near perfect. So well done in every detail… though a flaky biscuit would made a better home for all that wonderfulness.

I paid the extra for the avocado, but perhaps there is a bit too much of it. I might have preferred getting more of that cashew egg. They had a great texture.

Summer rolls because my friend loves summer rolls. They were a bit too wet and didn’t have those nice crunchy, herb-heavy bites you expect from a summer roll.

More near perfection, their Cashew Ricotta Toast popped with cucumber, pesto, and assorted microgreens. Damn, I love Toasts. But they are always so expensive.

This cashew ricotta was heavenly. You get what you pay for I suppose.

We got ice cream a few minutes down Smith street. Because Van Leeuwen makes great vegan ice cream and they clearly denote toppings. If you visit, never skip the coconut whipped cream.

How delicious! Our twin sundaes.

Thanks for the vegan option, Carroll Gardens!
