Pass the ol’ El Paso

I had never been to El Paso, Texas.  This in itself was a reason to head there on my day off.  In my head it was a quiet little border town, steeped in the rich combination of two cultures.  The latter was true, but the “quiet and little” not so.  It was a thriving modern city.  And that meant I would find some good vegan options for lunch.  It was Get Together that reeled me in.

Bummed to have missed their breakfast, I opted for their Buffalo Chick’n sandwich… a breaded and fried Gardein chick’n, vegan smoked gouda, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and ranch on a burger bun.  Since I already knew I’d be partaking in dessert, I opteded for the side salad.  After all, I had a full night of camping ahead of me.

The dessert, a fried banana sundae–ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream. Warm bananas are a real pleasure for me, so this was pure heaven.  In fact, it was would be heavenly with even half its components.

Other El Paso sites… the Salvation Army was bursting with Wrangler! But I had no more space in my suitcase to partake. This is my note to return and get my Wrangler gear on the cheap.

To follow, not in El Paso but more the feel I thought El Paso would have!
