Osteria 57

Finding a place to get a drink before 5pm is kind of a difficult mission in Manhattan now. It is a little cringey how the pandemic has altered it so. So this is chips and guacamole and an overpriced drink from the only place we could find that was open for a before dinner drink. But really–is chips and guacamole ever a bad idea?

Now the big deal dinner that was on our calendars for weeks: Osteria 57, Italian fine-dining with some spectacular vegan options. First, another cocktail. Perfect Darkness is thyme infused gin, cassis, blackberry, and lemon.

Some bread with the most mind-blowing olive oil

The Roasted Cauliflower with a paprika dressing, pickled red onion, garnished fresh herbs. Very delicious.

Now the star. This pasta was the best I’ve ever had. The Pappardelle Pistachio is delectable homemade pappardelle and vegan pistachio pesto garnished with mint. It was so heavenly.

The Fusilli al RagΓΊ di Funghi is homemade vegan fusilli, mushroom and walnut ragΓΊ. Again, the pasta is fantastic. Housemade pasta is next level.

They even have a vegan dessert. The Blueberry Chocolate Mousse is a rich chocolate mousse on an almond crust, Irish moss, and organic blueberries. Again, delectable!

I miss how Greenwich Village used to be.
