Not So Much Vegan Food
in Rochester, NY {Part 5.5}

I am calling this Part 5.5 because it’s brief… I was coming off a juice cleanse and only had two meals in total on my short visit to Rochester, New York. But both are definitely worth the mention.

First, Mamasans, my first meal off the plane. I got some Garden Rolls… because I want to eat as many of these as I can in the summer. They’re summer eats perfection.

My guy’s vegan Vietnamese curry. It’s very good but needs squirts of lime, though it is not served with any wedges. I’ll ask for them next time. Service is so wonderful here.

I wanted to go pretty light, so I opted for the Spinach Noodle Salad. It was just what I needed. Just spinach noodles with raw carrot, bean sprout, lettuce and peanut in a soy lime dressing.

The next day, a bigger meal… but still much lighter than I had been eating these days. We hit up Native Eatery & Bar downtown. It’s a beautiful space with high quality cocktails and food. Cocktails first because our vacation was about to begin.

Only the Bar Menu was available, but it did the trick. Here is the Roasted Beet Muhammara dip with crudite and crackers. Very tasty. I devoured it like I hadn’t eaten in 3 days.

I also got the chickpea version of their Lettuce Wraps. They had pico de gallo and candied nuts as a garnish. Very flavorful and fresh. Another great and light choice.

A look closer…

This fancy cocktail comes smoked… it’s Mezcal, charred Pineapple, maraschino and lime. Very cool drink! Mine was the Green Machine: Gin, Poblano pepper, lemon, cucumber, Pandan and tonic. Also very delicious and strong!

That’s it for now, Rochester! I’ll eat more next time.
