National Banana Split Day! 🍌🍨

Being vegan for about 26 years now, I have a White Whale… something I have always been searching for being done right vegan. But no place anywhere in the world is making the 🍌banana split🍌 I want… really creamy delicious ice cream in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry… home-made thick and chocolately hot fudge… home-made sweet and tart pineapple sauce… home-made marshmallow fluff… sprinkles… walnuts… and a cherry on top. Of all the hypothetical vegan storefronts I’ve day dreamed about, a real decadent ice cream shop who takes great care with home-made toppings is the one I need the most.

But on this National Banana Split Day, I’d have to do it myself… because I want it done right. Okay, I won’t make the ice cream because plenty of people are doing that right! But it is everything else that makes the Banana Split.

If you are a fiending this nostalgic treat as much as me, here is your road map!

  • Chocolate scoop of ice cream from Hedonist in Rochester
  • Vanilla and chocolate oat milk scoops from Brusters in Irondequoit
  • Store brand Maraschino cherries from Tops
  • Crushed walnut from anywhere
  • This really great Pineapple sauce recipe that will give you a ton of sauce… (leave out the mustard powder)

And here it is all assembled! Just perfection.

I ate the entire thing!

And you can too! Happy National Banana Split Day!
