My First Merry Merfolk ParadeπŸŒŠπŸ§œβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦ͺ
at the Maritime Festival
Greenport, New York

We were very excited to finally join Long Island’s Merry Merfolk Parade, part of the Annual Maritime Festival in Greenport. The celebration and parade is on a smaller scale than Coney Island’s Mermaid Parade (with a limit of 60 participants), but it is with a serious mission: to raise awareness of the shellfish and habitat restoration work of Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program‘s Back to the Bays Initiative. And so, a final day to don our mermaid wears…

The fins are ready to glisten in the sun!

Getting ready… Though a bit heavy, I really love my new crown.
