Milk Your Own Oats πŸ₯›
Easy, Thickener-free Oat Milk

I don’t know about you, but the garbage they put in plant milk to thicken and stabilize it is a bit creepy. Having a slew of oats around because auto-ship continued during a summer I wasn’t really home, I decided I would now make my own oat milk. Though this initial recipe was a bit of a guess, I am pleased with the results!

Homemade Oat Milk

Adapted from Love & Lemon’s recipe

1 cup whole rolled oats

6 cups water

1 teaspoon maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Combine all ingredients in a highspeed blender and blend for 1 minute.

In a large bowl, pour the milk over a fine mesh strainer. (I used the oat “pulp” for a batch of chia oatmeal.)

Taste for sweetness level, adding more maple syrup to your taste. Chill overnight.
