Mermaid Update π§ββοΈππ‘ {2021}
August 5, 2021
Despite creating a ton of new tops and shooting them on a slew of wonderful mermaid models, I have decided not to vend at MerMagi Con this year after all. I won’t bore you with the details, but the ease of my rolling over my reservation to next year helped seal the deal. So now I can work on increasing my stock, using more of the ton of seashells that still dominate space in my apartment.
My newest top is a different direction. I envisioned it when I was on the road—swirls of nautical rope swiped by a mischievous mermaid. I’m excited about how it turned out and have decided to do a few like this.
A little mermaid shoot with my friend’s daughters.
I never did a session with a 2 year old before. It was very challenging!
Her sister was all smiles, however. But alas, the sun was hurting her eyes.
So she had to look down.
My favorite tail fabric!
Finally got to shoot emP! π
Fish break. Why can’t the fisherman not leave carcasses allover the place?
Mermaid shoot location scouting on Staten Island. This is at Lemon Creek Park.
And at Mount Loretto
Excited about the isolation of this spot!
And back in Brooklyn, a small Army-owned spot that I’d have to trespass to access. I really want to use it!
More tops and shoots to come… in a much more relaxed fashion.
Hey. Iβve been raised on boats from an early age so just a suggestion that you whip the ends of the rope to prevent it from fraying.

Thanks for the tip! I tried with the hot glue gun on a few but thought it was too gunky. I will look into trying with a different material.
