Manhattan Vegan Treats

I have been running off to Manhattan far more often these days. This pandemic is taking its toll on her. Her heavy heart is tired, parts shuttered, but she’s nowhere near being defeated. This has been drawing me in–back to her streets–the same ones I wandered about in awe when I was just a kid. She can still hold me in an inexplicable way, a first love that has persevered, the potency of memory regenerative and self-sustaining, rooted to the best of my growth–each stage, my backdrop. I ❀️ you, NY.

Some easy vegan eats: Vegan Old fashioned Donut and oat milk latte at Gregory’s Coffee in the East Village.

Fat Choy, “kind of Chinese also vegan,” on the Lower East Side. This is a new eatery next door to the all-vegan O.G. Babycakes, or Erin McKenna Bakery.

I got the Mushroom Sloppy–a mushroom ragu, Chinese slaw and cilantro within a house made sesame pancake bun. Definitely sloppy and scrumptious. But I think it needed a sweet or heat element to send it over the moon.

Every bite new, a brand new picture

I’ll be back soon Ms. Manhattan. xoxo
