Lunch at the Malibu Barbie Cafe

It was a pink send-off at Malibu Barbie Cafe, a pop-up themed restaurant in Manhattan’s South Street Seaport. Though the movie was disappointingly dumb, nothing is tainting my own Barbie nostalgia. To follow, a lot of pink and some surprisingly good vegan food!

Ready to be in the pink!

Originally I was going to dress gothic… or in my “Barbie is Ugly” t-shirt I still have from the 90’s. But I opted for a 70’s Hawaiian, brunette friend of Barbie look. My friend and her little girls did 80’s.

Ridiculousness ensued.

Onward to the food! Like I said it was surprisingly good! This was the beet hummus (pink!)… garnished to the nines and delicious.

Our pink cocktails… I got the Pink Margarita… strawberry, lime and Patron. Very good!

Our healthier bowls–curry-spiced cauliflower, arugula, avocado, pickled red onion (pink!) and quinoa, drizzled with tahini. It was overpriced but much better than I expected.

Cheers!

Then a bunch of photos. The lighting was terrible! Considering everyone was thee for the photo opportunities, that was kind of a fail.

Blurry us

Before heading out… one of the last selfies taken in my bedroom. Yes, I am getting sentimental.
