All-vegan on Staten Island

A big and warm welcome to Staten Island’s first vegan cafe, Love Earth! I’m so glad I stumbled upon their space under construction this past summer. Now that they are up and running and I, oddly, had plans in the Charleston section of Staten Island, I just had to give them a try.

Their menu has plenty of well-loved familiar favorites, including house made burgers. That’s right–none of that Impossible or Beyond Burger crud! My choice, the spinach and artichoke burger with pesto on an dreamy fresh bun. Flavor packet! Drawback—Subbing chips for fries makes it a tad pricey, especially since the side was pretty sparse.

My friend’s Italian favorite–sausage and peppers on that same dreamy bun. I think Beyond here?

And an E.L.T.—Eggplant, lettuce and tomato. We were all very impressed with Love Earth. The place was hopping and that was great to see.

I had a batch of some fresh made chocolate chip cookies I over-baked the car, so we did not order any bakery items. But a great start for the Island’s first all-vegan cafe! I look forward returning and trying some other menu items.
