Long Time, No See: Staten Island Farm Colony

When the GPS put me through Staten Island, I knew I had to stop at the Farm Colony. Last time I visited there was some indicators of activity. But this time, stumbling upon a man named Joe walking his dog in the grounds, I learned that that activity had something to do with some utility work underground and not any plan for redevelopment. He worked for the Parks Department and had a lot to say about the grounds.

My goal was to return to this building. And after getting an injury on the way in, I met my goal.

It was time to head out so I didn’t get back to DC too late. But rest assured, I’ll be returning to Staten Island’s Farm Colony as long as it is standing.
