Gettin’ in… Abandoned Kings Park State Hospital
August 12, 2020

Back at The Kings Park State Hospital… with reinforcements! Though this post summarizes two visit to this rapidly changing site of ruins, I have still yet to explore the tremendous campus in its entirety… Which is fine as everyone that accompanies me to the site wants to return. Below is a map from Kings Park Psychiatric Center, Journey Through History that was extremely helpful in trying to determine where, exactly, we’re wandering.
Buildings 136 & 137: The Medical Diagnostic Clinic Surgical Building (Wards 72-80, Kitchen and Dining Room)

Buildings 18: Nurse Quarters (?)

Buildings 1: Wards 93-100, Patient Ward

Building 3: National Network of Public Health (NNPH) Administrative Office

Building 15: Wards 60-65, Violent Patient Ward

Building 94: Hospital Laundry

Building 93: Wards 17-38, Patient Wards (Continued Treatment)
When I visited on my own, Building 93 was wide open. I was too scared to venture in on my own. When I returned, huge tree trunks where placed and bolted in front of this open doorway. Disappointed, we pressed on. I knew there would be a pay off around the corner… or across the street.

Building 5: Maintenance & Engineering Department

This was kind of a bus stop looking alcove. In case you’re tired, go ahead and rest.
