Juice Cleanse-Day 2
August 16, 2012
What are these juices doing to me?
beets– stimulates enzymes in the liver
celery– stimulates digestion; removes excess fluids in the body
apple– fiber-rich
lime/lime/orange– strong acid fruits stimulate digestion and reduce contamination in the blood
ginger– stimulates intestines and bile flow in the gall bladder
carrot– digestive aid; skin and eye cleanser
yam– super nutritious vegetable with a ton of benefits
pineapple– enzymes stimulate digestion
cilantro– removes heavy metal toxins in the blood
romaine– packed with vitamins and minerals
collards– helps bile to be excreted
kale– helps bile to be excreted, cleansing the kidneys
Day 2 was fine. Drinking a lot of water certainly helped. I had no headaches or irritating symptoms. With myย lymphatic system being cleansed, I felt a lot of activity in the nodes in my neck. It was a pulsating feeling, slightly bloated and tender. But I enjoyed it. After 2 days of cleansing the inside of my body, it was palpable proof of the process I was undergoing. Proof besides feeling a bit miserable (day 1) and hungry. ย I have been hungry, craving food–starches, something to chew–but the strength of my hunger has dissipated. Before this fast I was so fixated on food. My whole day was based on where and when I would eat. It is interesting not having food invade my thoughts. Not better, just different. Even though I am fasting I have been looking at all my vegan blog feeds, watching food shows on television, and finding new vegan spots to hit. I have a very strong will but, at this point, I am not using that much of it. Cravings come more so in the evening. Probably because somewhere around juice 4 or 5, I feel at my worst. I’m sure I can make it through Day 3 though. I better begin to plan my break fast meal.
1 juice down, 5 more to go.
