Yuma Vegan Eats

After a couple of days of eating nothing more than trail mix, Yuma, Arizona offered some great vegan eats. I had one day in town, so here is what I chose:

Sunshine Cafe would be the hip coffee spot I could grab an oat milk latte and avocado toast from… two easy vegan options that have grown to be quite ubiquitous these days.

A easy and great breakfast.

On the sandwich tip, J.T. Bros has a cauliflower steak sandwich with grilled cauliflower, chipotle vegan mayo, avocado, lettuce on a French baguette. It was a touch call as they also have a Chipotle Veggie Patty Melt with a veggie patty, caramelized onions, mushrooms, melted Chao Cheese, chipotle vegan mayo on a French baguette as well! I really appreciate the multiple vegan options declared on the menu–and the great service of this quick counter spot.

It was a messy mouthful… which I enjoyed greatly.

A weary traveler often just wants a familiar form… a hot dog will do! And Dog Haus has vegan dog option that really hit the spot. The Beyond Hot Italian Sausage is topped with arugula, avocado, tomato and crispy onions. I chose the spicy brown mustard instead of their aioli, but it kind of dominated all else. Another plus, they knew about which of their breads are vegan.

Pre-devouring…

Now dessert, rolled ice cream from Parad Ice Cream Rolls, a place for easy vegan options with several plant milk bases to choose from. I chose coconut milk of course.

The Aloha Mango is absolutely dreamy. The base is coconut milk mango ice cream along with fresh mango, topped with one of my favorites: mango & sticky rice and drizzled with coconut sauce. So good and so neat to watch it get rolled.

Delightful and plentiful vegan choices in a darling desert town.
