Green-Wood Trees

I took a bike ride to see the flowering trees at Green-Wood. The ride was rough as I am totally lacking in cardiovascular endurance. But boy was I thankful for my lung capacity, the strength in my legs, my health in general–my ability to put something on my list of to-dos and to just do it. I am very good at that, having an ever-present Bunsen burner under my behind. But I don’t take it for granted.

This visit to my favorite contemplation spot in Brooklyn was a bit… different than usual. With all city playgrounds being closed, there were families with little children all about, as well as others attempting to find solitude. But the children were, gotta say, annoying, rolling down hills and running about whilst parents did not attempt to even instill the slightest bit of respect for the grounds, the everlasting home to thousands. But there was solace under the flowering trees.

Though these early spring trees are such a welcome site, the Cherry Blossoms of later spring are even more divine. But we wait for her, Nature.

Long time, no see

Always stalking her across the way

I decided when all of this is over, I’m going to take a ride on the trolley. I’m going to see the catacombs. I am going to do a bunch of stuff.

Like more bike rides without the need for a horse bandana… But now, I have to get back to my couch. It’s dangerous out here.
