Green Street Eatery 🥬

I first learned of Green Street Eatery a few years ago when it was a food truck. Even though it wasn’t that long ago, I was way more on top of all-vegan eats then, especially on Long Island. But it wasn’t until January of 2023 that I found my way to their vegan cafe, now off wheels and stationary in Levittown.

First, a Strawberry Watermelon Lemonade in their bright space. There are lots of interesting design touches around. As I waited for my food, I knew this would mean great attention to detail in their food. And boy was I right!

I decided on two tacos so I may also have the room for their Vietnamese Fries. They were spectacular. On the left, the Yum Yum Taco: seasoned roasted potato strips, Korean cauliflower, kimchi, green onion, cilantro and sesame seed with their delicious housemade Yum Yum sauce.

On the right, the BBQ Jackfruit Taco: seasoned and marinated slow-cooked jackfruit, pickled red onion, and housemade cashew sour cream. Great flavor-packed tacos… not overly wet as is sometimes the case with veggie tacos. Bright, colorful and beautiful as well.

Jackfruit done really well. Because it can be bad, very bad.

Next, the Vietnamese Fries, same stuff as the Yum Yum taco but on French Fries. I am a believer.
