Great Falls Park, Virginia

A day off would have me returning to Great Falls Park–a stop I attempted to make while on-call. I unfortunately could not enter the park because there was no cell service. This time, I had no responsibilities but to see and capture beauty with my camera. And in this capacity, the park was very much worth–more so because I have the National Park pass and did not have to pay the $20 fee.

It was absolutely gorgeous at the three overlooks… that is all I did while there because the heat was so unbearable. The overlooks also offer the best views as their height allows you to see the glorious expanse of the Potomac River’s carve.

The Falls were not as gushing and the water line was low, I overheard a fellow park-goer saying.

There are some guys down there who look like they are going to enter the water. I hope they were careful as the river has drowned quite a few souls.

Would love to return to see more of the park!
