Grassy Waters Preserve
West Palm Beach, Florida
April 1, 2021
As I am sure you know, Florida is a different climate than New York. But I like to notice how different that makes things down there. Different climate–different air, different land, different water. Different everything. I love to visit places that contrast my home in every way possible and be suspended within the newness. Wetlands preserves exemplify this penchant. It’s like walking through a science text book–sensually fascinating and enriching. So here are the text features, images and captions, from today’s science text: Grassy Waters Preserve in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Flowers grow in the water.
The sun shines in the mud.
Leaves share the air, share the water. How would a human mutate in order to acquire its basic needs in a competitive world? Hmmmm
Skinny trees because: function
Rockin’
Grassy waters–part solid/part liquid
Holding water

Earth’s artistic elements at play
Nothing more soothing than a world that is fine without you.
