Grand Canyon National Park
π International Dark Sky Park #15

I kind of dropped the ball with this night shoot. Though exhaustion and the heat during the day played a part in my not finding the right spot for my shoot, there was also construction, lots of traffic and nonstop visitor action… and my shooting with way too sensitive ISO thinking it would help matters. Then I had a difficult time finding the galactic core. I really can’t complain. The fruition of such an extensive trip, born of sitting on my butt on my couch, boggles my mind.
But I most certainly did not account for the impact of such severe heat would have on my moxy. Because I have to do it all myself–can’t rest in the passenger seat as another takes a driving shift. Admittedly, it’d be nice to have a co-pilot. Or to be the co-pilot. At least from day 8 and onward…
First I was right outside my cabin, by the rim. But there were so many light sources invading. Perhaps a more remote cabin would be best next time. (Because I will be back, Grand Canyon).
At my new spot… still in the parking lot checking out conditions
Light, light everywhere
