From the Muddy Banks of the Narrows

Some photos from my recon mission to check the status of the old Wrigley Gum Factory (for sale!) which still sits mostly purposeless on Staten Island’s north shore. At the time of my visit, park goers sat in nearby Buono Beach, part of Alice Austen Park, contemplating life in solitude. It was peaceful, remote though in the face of Manhattan’s toothy grin. Though there seem to be access points to the factory, I must say that an old manufacturing plant doesn’t have half the psychic lure and shine of my usual decaying haunts.
