Forks, WA Outtakes

How would guess that I was in the Pacific Northwest? Would it be a horizon dotted with coniferous silhouettes, like a Bob Ross painting?

Would it be the prevalence of drive through espresso stands and their foot-tall coffee cups?

Or the grey? The wash of a cloudy web of gauze covering all so that the light, unveiled, is even more glorious when it arrives.

Yes, I was now in Forks, Washington in a perfect room at the Far West Motel. It was a great starting point for my list of destinations in Olympic National Park. Though vegan food wasn’t plentiful, I didn’t expect to eat well.

Golden Gate was very satisfying with a large plate of tofu and garlic sauce done really well. I ate the whole family-sized portion.

Longhouse Cafe had a vegan option of their Indian tacos, yummy soft and warm frybread with some veggie topics, though it was way too much $ for the portion.

Well what do you know? The rainiest town in the contiguous U.S.!

I’d have a long trek home through all means of transport, so I got started early so I could definitely make my flights. Happy that SeaTac Airport had some good vegan options–this Cafe Flora outpost did the trick.
