Explosions in the Sky
September 1, 2018

It was the last of Coney Island’s Friday Fireworks, the end to a week of spending hours setting up my classroom for Back to School. So I sat with my fellow teacher friend on Brighton Beach to watch the show from afar after we decided we wouldn’t jump in the ocean. But sitting next to the ocean is the next best thing, especially with Chardonnay and good conversation. This summer has been a journey that ends with explosions in the sky. Literally, as I am listening to Explosions in the Sky as I am typing this.
The deep dark night loves the light
Most of the sunflowers have died. Except these little guys
To shorter days…
