Dare I say, I am not the biggest chocolate lover. So when Wok Man mentioned chocolate as his only requirement in a birthday cake, I had to compromise and resist the urge to dress up the cake with add-ons like ricemellow pipings, banana slices, berries or a glazed vanilla frosting. You see, he says one needn’t mess with simple perfection. Ok, ok. Chocolate it will be, yes. But with the kick of a special ingredient, one a Milwaukee brewer is sure to love… a Vegan Chocolate Stout Cake!
Within a Pig-Pen cloud of cocoa powder from the sifter and the rich, creamy chocolate stout from Rogue (which I chugged to conceal the evidence of this secret ingredient, thereby giving myself away in giddy drunkeness), I made this yummy chocolate stout cake, complete with chocolate crumb topping using VCTOTW‘s fancy cupcake recipe.
