Dreamland Roller Rink πŸ¦„

Dreamland Roller Rink is a pop-up roller skating rink in Brooklyn that hosts some pretty amazing themed nights. But my silly heart skipped a beat when I saw that there would be a 90’s Grunge vs. 80’s Hair Metal Night… when my fellow hair metal kid/90’s young adult side kick would be in town for the holidays. So we laced up for a night of trying to skate without falling while singing along to the music of our youth.

Dreamland popped up previously in Industry City and then was in Prospect Park over the summer. But now, to add to my personal nostalgia, this rink is now in… a mall πŸ˜‘… in downtown Brooklyn πŸ˜„.

Best of all, there is no reason to be self-conscious about your skills! First, you’re a confident adult now. And second, you’ll be amongst a group of skaters at all levels with big smiles on their faces.

Ticket includes the price of rental skates, but I had my own. This carpet is a must for a roller rink apparently. Check it out here too!

I swore I wore this exact outfit in high school. Minus the skates. Because: hiding my developing body. Adolescence was the worst.

Dorks R’ Us!

Pre-gaming at my apartment trying to find the right 90’s retro look.

On the left, high school me–which was much more comfortable and so won out over the more rave kid BjΓΆrk-y look with the iridescent pencil skirt.

Can’t wait to go to another skate event at Dreamland Roller Rink! To reasons to dress up oddly! I love those.
