Deep Fryday

Deep-fried vegan Twinkies.
Deep-fried vegan chocolate bars.
Deep-fried vegan cupcakes {not pictured, eaten too soon}
The Electrician and his dedicated fryer crisped up a slew of vegan goodies for Deep Fryday, proving that vegans can be greasy and gluttonous too. In my quest to never sacrifice for my eating ethics, I may check the realm of deep-fried delights off my list of things to do. Next treat I have been craving badly: Moon Pies.
Preparing the vegan Twinkies for frying, I used the same recipe as I did for the White Trash Dinner Party some time ago [details here]. I used the remaining maple buttercream from my Thanksgiving cupcakes as my cream filling and it complimented the golden fried skin so well. Once piped, the little cakes needed to hang out in the freezer to ensure an easy fry.
Here are some of the deep-fried vegan Twinkies! They came out delicious… like crispy, decadent oblong fat waffles. From lightly fried to well done, the vegan fried Twinkies were so… I want to curse.. good. Next time, a dusting of powdered sugar and maybe a try at a Raspberry Zinger.
Fried vegan Twink on the inside. The cream thinned out and leaked but all the sloppier better. Thank goodness Deep Fryday comes but once a year or I’d be having to buy all new pants to fit the expanded curves.
CandyPenny‘s vegan sausage came out of the deep fryer beautifully golden brown. Absolutely scrumptious! Dare I say that these reminded me of Chicken McNuggets? It needed a dip to compliment the great taste and texture. Perhaps something a bit sweet.
Deep fried Jokerz [the vegan Milky Way candy bar from Go Max Go Foods]! So good though oddly responsive to the hot, hot oil.
And the deep fried Buccaneer [the vegan 3 Muskateer candy bar from Go Max Go Foods]… that’s about all we could take. Now to fast for a few days…
