Cottage: Nighttime

It was a gorgeous night with crisp stars… but some wispy clouds persisted to enter the landscape. Still, the night shoot went better than I expected, with the most beautiful Milky Way right outside the door pretty early on. It makes a case for how a gorgeous galactic core can be captured even before astronomical twilight!

As we packed into the car to try a new spot… a secluded boat launch

At the boat launch

We saw many shooting stars thanks to the Perseids. But I didn’t capture any as they were happening south. So while my sequence was snapping away, we saw tremendous meteors! With big flaming tails! I had never seen them so vibrant and active.

Clouds still insisting

I did a star trails… it came out quite nice despite lots of lights from the other cabins, the kids opening the car door making the tail lights illuminate the ground red and the moving clouds. Take a looksie!

I’ll be in the dessert soon hoping to control a bit more of the variables. πŸ™‚
