Connecticut’s Vegan Gems

I am happy to report that I have been reporting on Divine Treasures in Manchester, Connecticut for 10 years now! Their quality is through the roof. Everything they make–chocolates, soft serve, cheeses–is so beyond anything happening in New York City. Yes. This strip mall shop off the interstate in Manchester, Connecticut slays it much more than New York City when it comes to high quality vegan treats.

Specifically, I swoon for their soft serve–so much that despite 10 degree weather, I door-busted for some vanilla soft serve dripping with their amazing hot fudge and caramel sauces.

While I was there I decided to pick up some early Valentine chocolates (so I can share them with him) and some of their housemade cheeses (because I never tried them before!) The Chevre-esque Sampler was my choice. Chevre cheeses are traditional made from goat excretions, I learned after looking into it.

How beautiful are these little wedges?

And they were delectable.

Onto another spectacular vegan eatery in Connecticut: Guilford’s Three Girls Creamery. I have long wanted to try their fried chicken sandwich, however the location that dishes it out was closed because of a Covid outbreak. I was lucky that when I arrived at their Water Street location after hours, I was let in and able to walk away with some goodies.

Here is one of the bakery cases that caught my eye. Some Valentine goodies…

My choices… an ombre rainbow cookie and a cake pop

The only sandwich I could grab is this beauty. The Belissimo is a seitan cutlet, fire roasted red peppers, their housemade mozzarella on Pesto Fried Dough with vegan Parmesan. It is outstanding!

Such great options here in my neighboring state. Go check them out!
