Coconut Spookybread at Spot Dessert Bar๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

For a limited time, Spot Dessert Bar was serving a pretty gorgeous instagramable dessert. Though this may describe many of the exclusive Asian-fused treats they serve on St. Marks Place in the East Village, their Coconut Spookybread was particularly striking: bright white, bright purple and deep black… colors of Halloween. The Black is the a charcoal cinnamon monkeybread, a version of the treat I tried years ago when I first stopped by (and that inspired my first try at making monkey bread). The stark White: a rotund scoop of coconut ice cream, topped with toasted coconut flakes. And the bright purple, an Ube drizzle.

It was delicious–but you are paying for the beauty at about $15 for just a fleeting moment of pleasure. Ah, such is life.

The servers know the money shot and offer to pour the bright purple ube drizzle as you film.

A special treat indeed. I look forward to more unique sweet treats from Spot Dessert Bar.
