City of Rocks National Reserve, Almo, Idaho {Evening}

When the stars came out at City of Rocks National Reserve, I saw the Milky Way right away… a gauzy spread of stars right above our campfire. I set up and used the glowing light of the fire to paint the interesting rock formations around us. This is why I chose this campsite… for easy and interesting star shooting. These are a few of my favorite shots since my star trails shots, which were programmed for the overnight, did not come out because… user (me) error. Oops.

Many shooting stars

This is Pisces fish rock was my fave

Some light painting after the fire went out

A glorious and star-filled evening that did not disappoint.
