Citi Field Vegan Report 2023

Long time, no baseball! With a visit to Citi Field to see a New York Mets game, I checked out the vegan status of the stadium. Unlike the reporting of previous years, what is vegan at the stadium is way more obvious thanks to notations on the menu… and the exclusively vegan stand, Vegan City, is also very helpful. So let’s start there.

Though many stands sell the vegan burger, there are broader offerings at Vegan City.

Here you can get the burger, a vegan hot dog topped with jackfruit chili and cheese sauce, a Beyond sausage and peppers as well as vegan nachos.

Here is the hot dog. It was dreamy!!

Adjacent to this stand is the World’s Fare indoor stands. There you can get edamame as well as a vegetable sushi roll.

The typical food stands note that the Nathans fries are not vegan. This was news to me as I had assumed otherwise for many years. Also vegan at these stands, the Superpretzel, popcorn, and peanuts. Elsewhere, the cotton candy is also marked vegan.

This was also by the register. Jacques Torres dark chocolate with while chocolate Mr. Met… at my quick glance it appears to be vegan.

Dole Whip‘s pineapple flavor is the only one that is vegan. (Also note that the pretzels at The Twist are not vegan.) I would recommend getting the pineapple Dole Whip sooner than later as it was all gone by the time I was ready to have it.

The dry and not-hot Superpretzel was a disappointment.

We were at the very last row of the stadium.

Cheers with some Coors! Play ball!
