Cindysnacks: All-vegan Store in
Huntington, Long Island πŸ’•

As a young weirdo growing up on Long Island in the 90’s, I always loved escaping to Huntington Village. I used to buy vegan chocolate chip cookies from the health food store on Main street that is long gone. You couldn’t find much vegan food anywhere in those days. Crushing on the independent book store clerk, catching an independent film at the Huntington Cinema Arts Center… Huntington Village was a respite from the typical Long Island mindset. Its progressive values were a welcome addition to my alienated youth. Now, decades later, Huntington has an all-vegan store with a top notch selection, Cindysnacks.

I am so grateful to observe the masses raise their standards and embrace plant-based eating. And things just keep getting better for vegans as the range and quality of vegan products is just blowing up. Cindysnacks has so many amazing vegan products. Besides the ease and freedom of shopping in an all-vegan market and the reward of supporting a business that shares my values, Cindysnacks staff is super cool–knowledgable and eager to connect with their customers.

This is just a small sampling of some of their goodies.

I was excited to try the LI-base Good Good Vegan Bakery. They bake stuffed cookies I have been clocking on Instagram–stuffed with marshmallow, stuffed with other cookies and other such magic.

I bought the funfetti sugar cookie stuffed with marshmallow.

It was yummy but a bit stale. Had it been fresh, my goodness. Like these bad boys I used to make.

I also got vegan white chocolate from Olivia Chocolat, which I had never seen, and the highly recommended fig salami from Hellenic Farms. I’ll let you know how they are when I try them.

My other stuffed cookie… The Happy Camper, a cinnamon-y chocolate chip cookie stuffed with marshmallow. Delicious!

I’m so excited to see such great things happening in the vegan realm, especially childhood home. Stop by Cindysnacks this holiday season to spread the vegan cheer.
