Chocolate and Pizza in a Bar

To me, baking is lovely a means of affection.  My time, my care, my precision–these things aren’t given away willy nilly.  They’re filled in a cupcake liner and delivered to your mouth, because of… love.  And in the process and in the output, there’s plenty in it for me.  It’s a win X 12.

I almost enjoy taking pictures of unfrosted cupcakes more.  There’s something it captures about possibility.

Having a bag of dates in my pantry for quite some time, I wanted to make a date caramel filling.  With just a few ingredients (soaked dates, vanilla, salt, coconut oil, water) you can transform those clunky dates into a smooth, pipeable caramel.  A special surprise inside…And a shiny, glossy chocolate ganache on top

Birthday Boy Mary Bruce!  His birthday is always within the dread of the impending end of summer. More to drink about…

And I suppose another form of affection is a friend ordering a vegan pizza to be delivered from Screamers Pizzeria.  We got the Grandma Pie, Sicilian style with garlic oil, Numu mozzarella, Violife mozzarella, sauce stripes and basil.

Hard to take a proper picture in a dark bar, but here is the oozy vegan cheese and the crust

That was chocolate and pizza in a bar.
