Cecconi’s in Brooklyn,
Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass

After hearing of the vegan option’s at Cecconi’s gorgeous DUMBO space overlooking both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, it went straight to the top of my Brooklyn list.

But first, a stroll in the late afternoon sun.

With a reservation, we got the option to nab one of their outdoor tables.

The vegan offerings are marked “pb.” We ordered most of them, but there were also some salads. I was very disappointed to learn that the vegan cheese is Daiya and the vegan sausage is Beyond. They can do better at that price point.

First, wine…

… and some delicious fresh bread along with a shallow plate of the most dreamy olive oil.

The Zucchini Fritti is served with a vegan lemon aioli. I wanted more crispiness, but still very yummy.

The off-menu Spaghetti Pomodoro. Perfect.

The wood oven-fired vegan pizza with mushroom.

The views definitely contributed to the overall dining experience.

Not too heavy-handed with the vegan cheese thankfully and a great crust…

Their vegan dessert was a rich chocolate mousse with a cherry sauce and a sprinkle of coconut and cacao nibs, topped with coconut sorbet.

Another stroll now that the sun has gone down… I forget how beautiful Brooklyn can be.

Goodnight, Brooklyn.
