California Desert Adventure ☀️
Death Valley National Park (Day)

According to the handy digital thermometer at the visitor center at Death Valley National Park, the day would reach a high of 117 degrees F. Though during my previous visit to the park in 2017 the temperature maxed out at 124, tonight’s night time low–which I didn’t stay for previously–would be 100 F. How is this even possible!?

Well, Death Valley National Park is the record holder for the hottest recorded temperature IN THE WORLD. (134 degrees F on July 10th 1913). To follow, the shots from the brief periods of time we could hack being outside.

A scene from the Artist Palette, a scenic drive which is more bearable.

Warnings before trudging up to Zabriskie Point.

Did you know that they shot parts of the original Star Wars in Death Valley? The landscape of the planet Tatooine… 🤓

The Devil’s Golf Course…

Into the Badwater Basin

Watching to sun go down, knowing it wouldn’t really make that much of a difference for the temperature

Because it’s Independence Day

Vegan food intel–the casual Coffee & ‘Cream has the Oasis Bowl for $19… Quinoa, Farro, Chickpeas, Black Beans, corn, onions, roasted bell peppers, tomatoes, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, and avocado…. There were also vegan dishes in the higher end restaurant at The Inn area, as well as The Last Kind Words Saloon, but I didn’t partake. Next time.

The General Store also had vegan snacks, including this vegan cookie from Alternative Baking Company for 1/2 off.
