Butterfly Pea Flower Bread 🦋
January 21, 2024

With a big bag of Butterfly Pea Flower powder at my disposal, I was on the hunt for uses right away. I found this very basic recipe to help create what we called “Butterfly Bread” — for its beautiful periwinkle hue and the shape the swirls made.
But first, first rise!

Dough grew quite nicely. (see below)

Now they get rolled together.

Second rise!

It grew well again, but perhaps I should have proofed longer?

It was a fairly small loaf, but it was also because of the pan I had. Here it is, golden brown.

And lots of pictures of its innards to follow! How pretty!

Clearly I was obsessed. Next time I hope for a better rise and perhaps in a different pan. I am loving this pale blue powder! What next?
