Birthdaze (observed): Garden State
October 22, 2018
When a holiday falls on a Sunday, you get the Monday off. Them’s the rules. So on my holiday, I ran some errands in New Jersey, mostly because I wanted to try this place: Seed to Sprout in Avon by the Sea, New Jersey.
This sandwich. It’s like the best sandwich I’ve had in the tri-state area. I’m not really keeping track, but I just mean to say that their Bacon Cheddar Melt was perfect. Every component, the seared marinated tempeh, crispy caramelized onion, coconut bacon, cashew cheese sauce and millet-flax bread, is just as it should be. Add some marinated kale and you got a lunch worth the Verrazzano/Outerbridge Crossing tolls.
Closer… (say like Hannibal Lecter)
I snapped several picture in-between inhaling it… I need to get back here real soon to try more of their menu. I am pretty much floored. 🙂
After errands, Papa Ganache in Matawan, New Jersey, an all-vegan bakery I get around to every coupe of years. Their selection has grown greatly since my last visit. So nice to see them thriving… and winning Cupcake Wars along the way.
So much to choose from!
I got the Banana Cream Pie cupcake, the S’mores, the Boston Cream Pie cupcake, and…
A vegan Yodel… wow.
Thank you, Garden State, for some great vegan options. Now that you are so close, I will have to explore you more often. Hope you don’t mind…
